One of my great crafting loves is mini books. I am always on the look out for new ideas and I have some great mini album idea books and this weeks book club is one I received at Christmas.
One of the great things about mini books is you can complete the preparation ahead of a big event, celebration or holiday and then add the photos and journalling afterwards.
They also make great presents as you can give a gift which is special and personal to both the receiver and giver.
What I look for in a mini album book, I look for one which not only gives me ideas for making the books but also for the content too and Jessica Acs provides both in this book.
Covering basic techniques, unique takes on them and then a series of ideas using every day objects, there is something in this book for everyone.
Packed full of ideas for manageable projects
Some of my favourites
- Interactive wooden building blocks on Page 100
- Flower Power Petal Pages on Page 50
- Capturing a day in the snow on Page 103
- Great Ways of Storing Recipes on Page 72
I have a good reason to introduce mini albums today because I want to mention a challenge which started on BBC Radio 4…
Record 2902 in 2012
It only happens once every 4 years and BBC Radio 4 are encouraging everyone to capture this years Leap Day, you may want to take a picture, write a poem or tweet your day… We are going to scrap a mini album and SMASH the day – so I will keep you posted on my progress.
Thanks for Reading
