Sunday Bookclub – Cake Pops by Angie Dudley

Cake Pops – the new cupcakes, smaller, bite size pieces the cake which can be decorated and shaped for any celebration possible. Eaten on the stick, they are great for parties as they are so easy to eat.

This Cake Bake Book by Angie Dudley is the first book from THE Cake Pop Bakery – Bakerella, already some other great titles are on their way.

Cake Pops By Bakerella

I received this book for Christmas and its perfect as I am looking for a new twist on my baking.

Firstly this is not a recipe book – this is an idea book. They only have 4 recipes at the beginning (that use a cake mix – but your favourite sponge recipe will do – I have tried Vanilla, Chocolate and Red Velvet, they all work well)

The majority of the book is about letting you in on the tricks of the trade for taking your basic sponge and turning them in to fun and edible works of art.

Before you do anything read pages 30 – 50… They will give you all the basics and will share the tools, techniques and garnishes which you will build on throughout the rest of the book.

The rest of the book takes the basic cake balls and turns them into ghosts, sheep, footballs or chicks or whatever you want. Everything you need (such as Candy Melts and Cake Pop Lollipop Sticks you can get from Amazon…)

All you then need is your imagination and the world of cake pops is your, my aspiration is to make a set of cake pops based on the Muppets (Picture copywrite of Bakerella)

“Its time to raise the curtain”… on Cupcakes

{This is a copy of my review of this book on Amazon}

Thanks for Reading
