JYC – December 24 – Christmas Eve

So finally I am coming to the main event, the night before, when not even a mouse is stirring (and even I had finished stirring and cooking the Christmas Baking!)

I love Christmas Eve, in some ways more than Christmas Day itself, I love the build-up, the preparation and then that like bit of a still small calm just before you go to bed. This year I was working so Mr BMB took his mother for a walk in the morning, I then had some cooking to do, so we watched a little TV before our evening tradition begins.

JYC_24_02At just before 6pm we headed out to see the Brailsford Lights. Two brothers who cover their Mother’s house in Brentry in lights. They raise thousands each year for the Children’s Hospital and have appeared on Channel 4’s King of Christmas Lights.

As part of their Christmas Eve Tradition, they have a visit from Santa, hot chocolate, a snow machine and carols playing. If you fancy checking them out, it’s a great community event on Christmas Eve

JYC_24_01On the way back we pick up a take away and settle down for a quiet evening of TV with the lights on the Christmas Tree twinkling away – perfect!
