ATOTC – A Look at Lady Liberty Pt1

As part of the Page Prompts 3 over at Big Picture Classes, the sketch this time used Page Design P, which was a new one for me. It is made up of 4×4 inch squares. I love this size, its perfect for focusing on specific elements of pictures.

We took 100s of photos at the Statue of Liberty and this layout was the perfect opportunity to showcase a range of them with a simple monochrome layout. I decided to use a spritz background.

ATOTC_LL_02_02When I am spraying, I work on the floor and hold the bottle without bending over (so about 3ft 6inches in the air). I find this gives me an even covering with small droplets.

ATOTC_LL_02_01I always start with darker colours and move to lighter colours and by the look of this paper I have also used to spritz walnut ink onto something, maybe a tag. I also leave it to dry overnight.

ATOTC_LL_02_03After cutting this into 4×4 squares I decorated them with white and shades of turquoise. I decided not to include any journalling and just concentrate on the photos.

ATOTC_LL_BPC_01_02I love the arrangement of photos on this layout, it draws your eyes across the page, I love the balance and symmetry. I still like to live by the “Design Your Life” principles from the previous Big Picture Classes.
